Why a fasting mimicking diet is the best of both worlds.

Life in the fast lane, surely makes you lose some weight. Our apologies to The Eagles, but the message stands firm – fasting is a great way to lose weight. However, no-one enjoys feeling hangry, or struggling with brain fog, feeling cold, irritability or a rumbling tummy, so a middle ground – one that leverages the benefits of fasting but minimises hunger pangs – is the best way forward.

Longevity.Technology: Fasting can effect ketosis, enhanced autophagy and cellular rejuvenation, but can be difficult to fit around the practicalities of daily life; this is where L-Nutra comes in –  fasting, but with food. It’s time to jettison faddy diets that prove difficult to understand, hard to follow and disheartening when you slip. Instead, reset your relationship with food and experience many of the pros of fasting without the cons of starving yourself – the Fasting Mimicking Diet.

The Fasting Mimicking Diet was invented by Dr Valter Longo, Director of the Longevity Institute at the University of Southern California who was dubbed “the fasting evangelist” by Time MagazineFMD consists of five consecutive days of significant calorie and macronutrient reduction, which your body interprets as fasting. This works out at less than 50% of your normal daily food intake when compared with a 2000kcal diet, but the food you can eat is scientifically formulated with amounts of fats, proteins and carbohydrates to stem hunger pangs and keep you on the go.

Why a fasting mimicking diet is the best of both worlds.

By restricting calories and counting the ones you can have (including olives, special infusions, soups and crackers) and working out a day-by-day timetable, L-Nutra’s ProLon programme is designed to keep you on the right fasting schedule. Following the plan a few times a year, and eating healthily in-between, can have real benefits in terms of healthy aging and weight loss. ProLon has been shown in tests, when used for three consecutive months, to help people lose an average of 5 lbs and 1.2 inches of waist circumference [1].

The ProLon 5-day meal programme helps your body reset and rejuvenate, triggering the body’s natural processes of intracellular clean-up and cell renewal. It is designed to trigger many of the benefits that can be achieved by a prolonged fast, but because L-Nutra’s patented recipe nourishes your cells in stealth mode and is not detected by your body’s food-sensing system, you can still eat.

Each day has a breakfast, lunch and supper scheduled – as well as those all-important snacks! The plan for each day is specific and should be followed – no food swapping, or saving up for another day. Staying hydrated is also recommended; food contains water, so less food = less water and this means that extra fluids should be onboarded.

So, no longer do you have to choose between feast or famine – ProLon gives you the best of both.
