Skin rejuvenation from novel nano-fat graft technique

New skin rejuvenation technique harnesses the power of Stromal Vascular Fraction stem cells to bring new life to aging skin.

Stromal Vascular Fraction is harvested from adipose tissue (fat) found in our bodies and SVF cells have previously demonstrated regenerative potential in aging or damaged tissues or organs [1]. Now a new treatment brings together liposuction, nano-fat grafting and cryogenic storage to create a standardised, minimally invasive treatment for skin rejuvenation.

Longevity.Technology: The market in minimally-invasive cosmetic procedures has long been cornered by Botox and dermal fillers. Now the line between cosmetic and therapeutic is becoming increasingly blurred as skincare products such as Uvence and OneSkin seek to prevent or delay the aging of skin, rather than just disguise its effects.

The Uvence system, pioneered by Dr Olivier Amar, removes adipocyte and inflammatory substances to derive fat extracts rich in SVF stem cells, which can be cryogenically preserved for up to five years. Fat tissue is extracted from a patient using micro or mini liposuction and then processed to remove adipocyte and other associated inflammatory substances.

Adipocyte is tissue specialised for storing energy as fat, and is the substance which creates volume in patients who undergo regular fat-transfer procedures. This tissue is also responsible for abnormal build-up of fat, which is sometimes experienced by fat-transfer patients, as well as individuals experiencing conditions such as lipoedema.

The tissue undergoes washing, emulsification and decantation processes, the result of which provides a small quantity of fat extract rich in SVF stem cells, or ‘super enriched tissue’.

Following the purification process, the ‘super enriched tissue’ can then be reinjected anywhere on a patient’s body to transform the look, feel and complexion of problem areas of the skin; including the face, neck, upper torso and hands. The ‘super enriched tissue’ dramatically improves the elasticity, smoothness and overall appearance of skin, and can be applied to treat scars and burns, or for general aesthetic purposes.

Uvence is regulated by Human Tissue Authority for cosmetic applications, as well as treatment of scars, burns and other skin imperfections; rather than relying on synthetic substances and neurotoxins, the Uvence procedure relies on purified human tissue and the patient’s own cells, which significantly reduces the possibility of rejection or adverse side effects.

The cryopreservation element also means that patients can benefit from a long-term cosmetic solution, without the need for further liposuction or extraction procedures.”


 

Uvence can also cryogenically preserve a patient’s purified tissue for up to 5 years, meaning patients can repeat the skin rejuvenation procedure if they wish.
